UPDATED RACE DETAILS!


Greetings runners! We are so excited for Saturday’s upcoming race. We appreciate your support in helping us raise money for the Coleman family. The Spread Magic Around 5k is going to be a great event thanks to all of you!

Please read the following RACE DETAILS carefully so you are fully prepared for Saturday’s big day!

PACKET PICKUP:
Packet Pickup will be available Friday October 29th from 4-7 p.m. at Kenwood First Ward Church building,
1765 GREGSON AVE (3080 South), Salt Lake City, UT 84106
Park in the south parking lot and enter through the SOUTH entrance of the building. The packets will be in the first room on the left. (signs will be posted)
We STRONGLY encourage you to pick up your packets Friday afternoon. However, packets will also be available the morning of the race from 7:00 a.m.-7:30 a.m. in the Rice Group Pavilion at Liberty Park.

Other people can pick up your packet for you.

**Remember t-shirts in the size you ordered are only guaranteed to those who registered before October 20th. The shirts left over will be given on a first come, first serve basis at packet pick up.

RACE DAY:
Get in the spirit and DRESS UP! Prizes will be awarded for costumes.

Spread Magic Around 5k will be held in Liberty Park, 1300 S and 700 E.

Race will start PROMPTLY at 8:00 a.m. Please arrive early and carpool with your friends and neighbors!

The start line will be in the NORTH EAST corner of the park near the Rice Group Pavilion.

Race-day registration will be available for $30 and will ONLY BE OPEN FROM 7:00-7:30 a.m. You can still register online for $20 until Friday, October 29th at 8PM. Please take advantage of online registration! (http://www.runnercard.com/e/runner.Main?meet=2928)

Liberty Park will have bathrooms open near the Tennis Courts and near the Rice Group Pavilion (not along the race course).

Participants will run/walk TWO loops counterclockwise, around Liberty Park then continue running on the path towards the exit of the park, cross the street in the park and run east towards the Rice Group Pavilion to the finish line. (You can see a simple picture of the course on the race website www.spreadmagicaround.blogspot.com)

There will be bagels, bananas, donuts and Halloween candy after the race.

Awards ceremony will be at 9:00 a.m. at the Rice Group Pavilion.

Prizes will be given to the first male and female to cross the finish line, the male and female with the best costume and a few other surprises! 
Event and runner photos will be provided by Justin Rae.  Photos can be viewed and purchased at www.sunraeart.com the week following the event.  All proceeds will benefit the Coleman's.

Dogs and strollers are allowed on the course however please no bikes, skateboards, rollerblades, scooters or roller skates.

With your help we’ve already been able to raise more than $1000 for the Colemans. We thank you again for your support and look forward to seeing you Saturday morning!

Only those who register BEFORE OCTOBER 20th will be guaranteed a race shirt. Online registration will still be open until Oct. 27th and you can register the day of the race but the price goes up! 

Kids 12 and younger are free! 
Strollers and dogs are welcome on the course!

RACE INFO





WHEN: Saturday, October 30th, 8:00 a.m. 
             Liberty Park, 1300 South 600 East
             Start line found in the North East corner of the park near the Rice Group Pavilion

THE CAUSE: Whit and Lindsey Coleman recently welcomed their second child with Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA) type 1 into their family.  The life expectancy for their two children, Jonas and Maggie, is about two years old.  Please view the following video to learn more about their urgent situation: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t_x3EIP-loo.  We are partnering with Good in the Hood, a Utah 503 (c) non-profit organization; all proceeds benefit the Coleman family.  More information can be found at www.dogoodinthehood.com.


COURSE: The course is a flat, fast course. Start line is in the north east corner of Liberty Park. Runners will head west, running counterclockwise on the running path, running two loops around the park. Once runners hit 3 miles they will cross the street and run east towards the Rice Group Pavilion to the finish line. 

REGISTRATION: You can register online at http://www.runnercard.com/e/runner.Main?meet=2928 It doesn't cost any extra to register online. Online registration is $20. You will be able to register the morning on the race but it will cost $30, so save yourself $10 and register early online! 

AWARDS: Since the purpose of this charity race is to race money for the Coleman family, awards will only be given to the first male and femal finishers. 

POST RACE GOODIES: Bagels, bananas and Halloween candy will be available after the race. 

PACKET PICK UP: Packet pick up will be Friday October 29th from 4:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. at the Kenwood 1st Ward church building. Enter the through the South Entrance and follow the signs to packet pick up. 

Packet Pickup will also be available the morning on the race at Liberty Park's Rice Group Pavilion from 7:00-7:30. We strongly encourage participants to pick up their packets the night before the race. 


Runners, walkers and people with strollers are all welcome on the course. Please no bikes, rollerblades, skateboards, or scooters.
